Conduit under the lot

The transformer pad is on one side of the parking lot; the panel, the lighting or the chargers are on the other. A directional bore puts the PVC or HDPE conduit under the lot at the depth the NEC and the utility require, from a pit at the pad to a pit at the building, and the lot never closes. The same move puts a feed under a street, a service under a Winter Garden driveway, and power to a pool, a dock or a guest house under a lawn.

Electrical bores this crew does

  • Primary and secondary feeds between the utility's pad and the service entrance.
  • Parking-lot and site lighting circuits under drives and islands.
  • EV charging circuits across lots paved before chargers were planned, including hotel and resort lots.
  • Power to signs, gates, pumps, lift stations and irrigation controllers.
  • Duct banks of several conduits in one bore.

Local conditions

Sand and a shallow water table; OUC inside the city, Duke Energy outside it, each with its own standard for duct depth and pad-side work.

Working with the electrician

The crew bores to the electrical plan, sets depth and sweeps as drawn, leaves the conduit proofed with pull string and coordinates Sunshine 811 and any right-of-way permit. Florida work shows mobilization as its own line. Davis Underground Solutions has the rigs and recent site work. Estimates are free. Call now: (855) 520-2670.

Other drilling and boring services in Orange County

Directional Drilling Orange County

Horizontal directional drilling (HDD): a steered bore between two small pits that puts conduit, pipe and cable under roads, driveways, parking lots and landscaping with no open trench.

Horizontal Drilling Orange County

Horizontal drilling for any line that has to cross something it cannot cut through: a street, a slab, a canal, a stand of trees. Entry pit, exit pit, nothing opened in between.

Directional Boring Orange County

Directional boring is the small-rig end of HDD: short, shallow bores for service lines, sleeves and conduit on residential and light-commercial lots.

Underground Drilling Orange County

Underground drilling for new utilities where the surface is spoken for: tracked, steered bores placed under whatever is already built on top.

Fiber Optic Cable Drilling Orange County

Fiber duct and drop conduit installed by directional drill for carriers, co-ops, campuses and developments: long shots along the right-of-way, short shots to the building.

Underground Conduit Drilling Orange County

Single ducts and multi-duct bundles pulled through one reamed bore: communications, power, controls and spares placed together under the obstacle.

Structured Cable Drilling Orange County

Conduit between buildings for structured cabling, campus networks, security and controls, bored under courtyards, drives and parking rather than cut across them.

Utility Drilling Orange County

Utility drilling for water, sewer, gas, power and telecom owners: permitted road crossings, mains under live streets, services to the meter.

Communications Drilling Orange County

Communications conduit and cable placed by directional drill: telecom, cable TV, cell-site backhaul and private networks, under roads and lots.

Missile Boring Orange County

Missile boring (pneumatic piercing) drives a steel mole through the soil for short, straight, shallow runs under a driveway or sidewalk: the quickest way to sleeve a lawn or a walk.

Auger Boring and Drilling Orange County

Cased auger bores for road, highway and railroad crossings and for gravity sewer that has to hold an exact grade: a straight steel casing jacked from a pit.

Sewer, Water and Drain Lines Orange County

New water services and mains, sewer force mains and laterals, and storm drains installed under roads, driveways and yards without trenching them open.

Questions about electrical conduit drilling in Orange County

Conduit sizes?+

1-inch through 6-inch and larger; bundles pulled through one hole as a duct bank.

Schedule 40 PVC?+

Yes, with the bore sized for it and the pull managed; HDPE where the route bends more.

Who deals with OUC or Duke?+

Length of the run, what is being installed (conduit, duct, water, sewer, gas), what it has to cross, and where the plans stand. A crew that bores for a living can usually price it from that and a site walk.
