What a missile does
A pneumatic piercing tool is a steel cylinder with a hardened nose and an air hammer inside. Set in a small pit, aimed at the far side and fed by a compressor, it pounds forward, compacting the sand around it and leaving a hole its own size; the sleeve or small pipe follows it in.
